Kara is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has been working with children and adults with autism for over 6 years. After earning her B.A. in Psychology from Christopher Newport University, Kara spent four years implementing Applied Behavior Analysis at a private day school for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. During this time, she earned her Master’s in Special Education with an Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate from George Mason University. In 2017, Kara began working as a Senior Consultant at Continuum, providing in-home direct and consultative services to learners with autism. She has experience working with a variety of learners, ages 2-22, in private school, public school, and in-home settings. Kara’s areas of expertise include behavioral assessment, reduction of maladaptive behaviors, and increasing communication skills through functional communication training. She loves collaborating with families to bring the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis into their everyday lives.
