Continuum Behavioral Health serves Washington, DC families through in-home ABA therapy and telehealth, delivered by our Virginia clinical team based at our Fairfax office on Waples Mill Road. Our BCBAs and RBTs travel across the Potomac for home sessions, and we deliver parent training and supervision via secure telehealth so the program holds together around traffic.

Alisha Peterson, M.Sc., M.S., BCBA, LBA
Alisha Peterson, M.Sc., M.S., BCBA, LBA, leads Continuum’s clinical work across Virginia and the District. Alisha completed her undergraduate degree at Metropolitan State College of Denver in Psychology and went on to complete a Master’s Degree in counseling with an emphasis in school counseling, and later completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Alisha has experience working in the mental health field since 2005 and has worked with learners ages 3-13 impacted from trauma, abuse, and complex mental health. Since 2014, Alisha has worked with individuals with varying levels of developmental delays and behaviors.

Intake
Your Consultant will schedule an initial intake meeting to discuss your family’s needs and review medical history
Assessment
Your Consultant will conduct an individualized assessment that includes behavioral observations, skills assessments, and writing a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan
Caregiver Training
You will be assigned a Caregiver Support Specialist who will provide ongoing caregiver support and training throughout your services
Treatment Services
Your Consultant and treatment team will provide one-on-one therapeutic services to address your family’s unique needs
Ongoing Analysis
Your learner’s progress will be reviewed consistently by your Consultant to ensure the highest quality of services and make updates as needed
Insurances Accepted
in Washington, DC
The District’s autism insurance mandate has been in place since 2014. We work with families on:
– CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield
– Tricare (significant share given Pentagon proximity)
– UnitedHealthcare commercial plans
– Aetna, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic
DC Medicaid covers ABA for children meeting medical necessity. We work with AmeriHealth Caritas DC, MedStar Family Choice DC, and CareFirst CHPDC, and handle prior authorization and renewals.
School Coordination
Most DC families work with DC Public Schools, the DC public charter school network, or the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington schools. We participate in IEP meetings as outside providers and align home programs with what classroom teams are working on.
